This report helped designate Mukuru a Special Planning Area (SPA) by Nairobi County, and initiated a community-driven planning process to upgrade the settlement. This report was developed in partnership with Shack Dwellers International - Kenya & Muungano wa Wanavijiji.

December 2018. I led a study of the Health Impacts of Closing a Community Hospital. This Rapid Health Impact Assessment focused on the health equity impacts from closing Alta Bates hospital in Berkeley, California. We found that the closure may have significant impacts on the well-being of the region, especially the poor and people of color in the areas of birthing, emergency department access and disaster response.
