2015 - Our Health in All Policies work in Richmond, CA, received the Public Service Award on February, 20, at the 6th Annual UC Berkeley Chancellor’s Community Leaders Breakfast. Here I am with Richmond Mayor Tom Butt and Dean Jennifer Wolch from Berkeley's College of Environmental Design.
2013 - For my collaborative work that has improved water, sanitation, and living conditions for Kenyan’s urban slum dwellers, I received the Global Citizen Award from the United Nations Association-USA East Bay Chapter. The awards are given for outstanding achievements in fulfilling the UN Millennium Goals of alleviating poverty, inequality, and disparities.
2007 - The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Investigator Award in Health Policy Research which provides funding to highly qualified individuals undertaking broad studies of the most challenging health, health care and health policy issues facing America.
2007 - Paul Davidoff Best Book Award for Street Science: Community Knowledge and Environmental Health Justice from the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP).
